Pokemon scalper reportedly arrested after assaulting man during trading card

A viral video from a Lisbon, Connecticut Target allegedly shows a Pokemon TCG restock confrontation that left a man punched and a 4-year-old girl hurt.

An alleged Pokemon scalper was reportedly arrested after a confrontation during a Target Pokemon TCG restock allegedly turned violent, with a man punched and a child hurt in the chaos.

The incident was described in a September 5 post from Pokemon TCG account PokéStreetz, which said it happened at a Target in Lisbon, Connecticut, around noon on August 28.

According to the post, the submitter and her boyfriend were fourth or fifth in line when two shoppers ahead of them allegedly filled baskets with the remaining Pokemon products. The shoppers were reportedly subject to a two-item-per-SKU limit before moving the products to a cart hidden in the store’s men’s clothing section.

What happened at the Target restock

PokeStreetz warned that the recording begins during the confrontation and does not show the alleged shelf-clearing or the full lead-up to the argument.

The account claimed that the individual in white punched the submitter’s boyfriend in the face. His phone reportedly blocked part of the blow, but he fell into a 4-year-old girl, allegedly hurting her elbow.

According to the post, the man immediately got up to check on the child. The alleged attacker then fled the store, leaving his wallet behind.

The child’s father reportedly called police after the incident. When the man returned to the Target for his wallet, PokeStreetz claimed that police arrested him. The account also said both shoppers were trespassed from the store.

No suspect has been publicly identified, and no charges or arrest report have been located.

A same-day post in the Pokemon Drops & Restocks in CT Facebook group described the Lisbon Target as a “nightmare.”

Comments on the post claimed that someone had wiped out the Pokemon tins before becoming violent when they were recorded. Other commenters identified the products as Ascended Heroes tins and suggested the people involved had caused problems at other stores.

The incident comes amid renewed demand for Pokemon TCG products. The Pokemon Company has previously restricted hyped 30th Anniversary products to Japanese buyers to combat scalpers, while Pokemon Center recently cancelled customer orders during a crackdown on suspected scalpers and bots.

Target has also taken action against bulk Pokemon card purchases in the past, as Dexerto previously reported.
