Another gaming event is almost here, as Tokyo Game Show 2026 kicks off next week, and PLAYISM has given us an early look at what it plans to bring to the show. During the PLAYISM Game Show: TGS 2026 Preview, the publisher showcased 11 games, ranging from titles we’ve already seen getting new demos and platform announcements to a couple of completely new publishing reveals.
There was quite a bit shown during the presentation, including release dates, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 announcements, upcoming Steam demos, and several games that attendees will be able to get their hands on during TGS 2026. Some of these definitely caught my attention more than others, especially a certain Metroidvania and one very strange game involving food. So, if you missed the presentation, here’s everything PLAYISM showed during its TGS 2026 preview.
Idol Manager: Virtual Venture | PC (Steam) | 2027
AdvertisementDeveloper Glitch Pitch showed off Idol Manager: Virtual Venture, a follow-up to Idol Manager that trades traditional idols for the world of virtual streamers. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to run your own VTuber agency without dealing with all of the real-world headaches that come with it, well, this might be your chance.
Players will scout new talent, manage their agency, and help their virtual personalities build an audience. PLAYISM confirmed that Idol Manager: Virtual Venture will also be playable during Tokyo Game Show 2026, giving attendees their first opportunity to see how those new systems actually work.
Idol Manager: Virtual Venture is currently scheduled to enter Steam Early Access in 2027.
AdvertisementIron Bramble | PC (Steam) | 2027
Being a sucker for Metroidvanias already puts Iron Bramble on my radar, but seeing that it comes from Mini Bunnies and Emlise, the developers behind Rusted Moss, makes it even more interesting. This time around, the team is leaning heavily into momentum, fast movement, firearms, and an elastic grappling hook that looks like it will play a major role in getting around.
The cyber-gothic setting doesn’t hurt either, and from what we’ve seen so far, movement looks like it will be just as important as combat. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait until 2027 to try it, as PLAYISM announced that a Steam demo for Iron Bramble will be released on September 17, 2026, right alongside Tokyo Game Show.

Midnight Train: New Moon | PC (Steam) | 2027
Midnight Train: New Moon is a 2D exploration horror adventure from developer LydiaBluebell, and the setup definitely sounds like something horror fans could have some fun with. The story follows Luna and aspiring detective Neil, who find themselves trapped inside a mysterious alternate space after boarding a strange train.
AdvertisementPlayers will have a limited amount of time to explore, solve puzzles, and figure out how to escape before things presumably get much worse. PLAYISM’s TGS 2026 demo will feature the game’s opening train sequence before allowing players to begin exploring the mysterious building waiting for them on the other side.
Midnight Train: New Moon is scheduled to release on PC via Steam in 2027.
A Passing in the Night | PC (Steam) | 2026
AdvertisementDeveloped by .iris, A Passing in the Night is a third-person psychological 3D adventure that follows Kai through a strange nighttime world filled with wanderers, ghosts, and other supernatural beings. Just looking at the footage, this is definitely one of those games where I’m not entirely sure what the hell is going on yet, but sometimes that’s part of the appeal.
The TGS 2026 demo will be fully voiced and begins with Kai encountering a demon that asks a mysterious question. From there, things only appear to get stranger as players explore the game’s unsettling world and try to figure out exactly what is happening.
A Passing in the Night is currently scheduled to release on PC via Steam sometime in 2026, though an exact release date hasn’t been announced.
AdvertisementDevil Connection | Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android | January 21, 2027
ChaoGames’ Devil Connection also received a pretty significant update during the showcase, with PLAYISM announcing that the Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android versions will launch on January 21, 2027. The adventure has players teaming up with the mischievous Devilun while summoning different characters and manipulating their emotions to gather magical power.
Dialogue choices can drastically affect how events play out, and there are apparently quite a few endings to discover, including plenty of bad ones if you make the wrong decisions. Honestly, whenever a game starts advertising just how many ways I can screw things up, that usually gets my attention.
AdvertisementNintendo Switch physical and digital editions are planned, with physical preorders now underway.
Homura Hime | PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch 2 | PC: March 4, 2026 / Switch 2: 2027
Crimson Dusk’s anime-inspired action game Homura Hime is already available on PC via Steam, where it launched on March 4, 2026, but now it’s also making its way to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. Better yet, that version will be playable during Tokyo Game Show 2026.
AdvertisementThe game mixes fast-paced melee combat with bullet hell-inspired enemy attacks, forcing players to dodge, parry, and counter while fighting through waves of enemies. That’s already right up my alley, and the TGS build will include both the tutorial and a battle against the game’s first-stage boss, Agatha, so attendees should get a decent idea of how the combat feels.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version was previously expected in 2026, but the latest information now has it arriving sometime in 2027.
Skateboard Knight | PC (Steam), iOS, Android | 2027
AdvertisementSkateboard Knight easily has one of the stranger concepts from the presentation, and I mean that in a good way. Developed by Maroru Games, this auto-scrolling roguelite handles attacking and forward movement automatically, leaving the player to focus on vertical movement, positioning, and staying out of trouble.
That sounds simple on paper, but PLAYISM says the streamlined controls are meant to make the game approachable while still giving players increasingly difficult stages, bosses, and progression systems to deal with. Depending on how that difficulty ramps up, this could end up being one of those games that’s easy to pick up and considerably harder to put down.
Skateboard Knight will be playable during TGS 2026 and is currently scheduled to launch on PC via Steam, iOS, and Android in 2027.
AdvertisementMillion Depth | PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch | PC: November 12, 2025 / Switch: December 3, 2026
Cyber Space Biotope’s Million Depth is already available on PC via Steam, having launched on November 12, 2025, but PLAYISM used the showcase to announce that the game is heading to Nintendo Switch on December 3, 2026. Both digital and physical editions are planned for the Switch release.
The game follows Moma as she descends through an underground world said to stretch across one million floors while searching for someone important to her. What makes the combat interesting is that time essentially stops whenever Moma stops moving, giving you an opportunity to think about what you’re going to do next instead of constantly reacting to everything being thrown at you.
AdvertisementThere’s also a crafting system that lets players build weapons and shields using individual parts, giving you additional control over how you approach combat and exploration. Between the combat system and the ridiculous one-million-floor setup, there’s definitely a lot going on here.
Sea Sniffers | PC (Steam) | 2027
One of the two new publishing announcements during the presentation was Sea Sniffers, developed by Blastmode and MP2 Games. Players take control of Kiwi alongside her seal companion Momi as the pair explore the ocean, dive beneath the surface, discover new creatures, hunt for treasure, complete quests, and upgrade their equipment.
AdvertisementYou’ll also be documenting the marine life you discover along the way, which all sounds rather wholesome until you realize not every creature is going to cooperate. Apparently, Momi can solve that little problem by punching stubborn sea creatures into submission, and I can’t lie, watching a seal throw hands with sea life immediately made this one more interesting to me.
PLAYISM will publish Sea Sniffers on PC via Steam in 2027, and the game will also be playable during TGS 2026.
Full Belly Breakout | PC (Steam) | 2027
AdvertisementThe second new publishing announcement was Full Belly Breakout, a bizarre first-person puzzle adventure from Zxima.llc. You’ve been captured, and apparently your best chance of escaping involves sitting down and eating increasingly dangerous meals.
That might sound simple enough until eyeballs start escaping from your rice and sharks begin appearing in your soup. Yes, you read that correctly. Players will need to interact with each meal, solve puzzles, and survive whatever insanity gets tossed onto the plate, with your actions during these sequences also affecting which ending you receive.
I don’t know who looked at dinner and thought, “You know what this needs? Sharks,” but I’m at least curious enough to see where this goes. PLAYISM will publish Full Belly Breakout on PC via Steam in 2027.
AdvertisementOrder of the Sinking Star | PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 | October 8, 2026
Rounding out the presentation was Order of the Sinking Star, the upcoming puzzle game from Thekla, Inc., the studio behind Jonathan Blow’s Braid and The Witness. Considering the studio’s history, it probably shouldn’t be surprising that this thing is absolutely loaded with puzzles.
The game features more than 1,000 handcrafted puzzles spread across four distinct worlds, with each area introducing its own mechanics before those concepts eventually begin overlapping with one another. That’s a lot of puzzles, and if you’re someone who enjoyed having your brain twisted around by The Witness, this seems like another game you’re going to want to keep an eye on.
AdvertisementOrder of the Sinking Star launches on October 8, 2026, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. It will also be playable during Tokyo Game Show 2026.
PLAYISM Has Plenty Lined Up for TGS 2026
There was actually more here than I expected going into the presentation. Iron Bramble is probably the game that immediately jumps out to me thanks to my love of Metroidvanias, while Homura Hime looks like the type of fast action game I can easily lose some time with. Then there’s Sea Sniffers, because apparently watching a seal punch fish is all it takes to get my attention these days.
Thankfully, we won’t have to wait very long to see more of several of these games, as PLAYISM will have multiple playable titles available during Tokyo Game Show 2026. TGS 2026 takes place from September 17 through September 21, and with the show right around the corner, I’m sure this won’t be the last batch of games we’ll be talking about before everything gets underway.
